'The House with Chicken Legs'
by Sophie Anderson
This is a beautiful and enchanting tale full of adventure, friendship, love, and a little bit of magic. Here's what our book club kids had to say... "This is a book that is full of surprises. It makes you feel all types of emotion, from happy, to excited, to sad. We recommend this book to 7-10 year olds who like imaginative stories. We loved this book
'Midnight at Moonstone'
by Lara Flecker
This is a seemingly familiar tale of an old a dusty costume museum that springs to life at the stroke of midnight, but told with a beautifully personal touch. Wonderful descriptions and stunning illustrations really help this book burst to life and create a sweet tale of wonder and magic. Lara herself told us that she is inspired by her role at the V&A museum, and the costumes she works with sets her imagination alight. The group was brimming with ideas for a sequel...we'd love to see what is next in store for Kit and Moonstone.
